“Astounding Irresponsibility”

A man, in a car, in a facemask, waving to well-wishers from behind a closed window. What kind of monster is he? I’m not sure, so it’s a good thing the establishment press of the entire western world is on it.

I even got a news alert on my phone:

The promoted article can be found here.

I can summarize it for you: everyone who hates Trump hates him just a little more today for taking a ride in the presidential SUV to wave at well-wishers who had gathered around the hospital to show their support. There were two secret service agents in the front seats, and this ride was basically a death sentence for those poor men. It’s just too horrible. And there’s a doctor who works at Walter Reed (but hasn’t been treating the president) who was so angry about it he put out a whole Tweet and said the irresponsibility was astounding! And also, you’ll never believe this, but a lot of Democratic politicians were also just like, Oh My God, this is the worst thing ever. And DR’s super-duper U.S. correspondent Lillian Gjerulff Kretz, wife of DR’s super-duper Chief U.S. correspondent Steffen Kretz, says that there’s really mixed signals coming out about the president’s health because the doctors treating him all say he’s getting better even though we know they’ve been giving him like every possible treatment there is. (See, the signals are mixed because how could he be getting better after getting all those treatments? So mixed!)

The article notes that the doctors treating Trump determined the ride was safe. But what do they know?

In any case, it’s a good thing there’s something important and deeply significant to write about, otherwise the media might have to talk about less important things like, oh, I don’t know, the fact the documents declassified and released last week prove that, as The Federalist puts it, “Russia Believed Clinton Was Planning Anti-Trump Collusion Campaign In 2016, And U.S. Officials Knew It.”

Let me get my tongue out of my cheek for a minute here and say it plainly:

The totality of evidence that has now been released to the public, through document declassifications and sworn testimony, paints a picture that is exactly the opposite of what Democrats and the media have been shouting for the past four years: there was a campaign that was coordinating with Russia to hurt their opponent in the 2016 presidential campaign (and beyond it), but it wasn’t the Trump campaign. It was the Clinton campaign, and it was aided and abetted in those efforts by corruption at the highest levels of the nation’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies with the full cooperation of the Obama administration.

Not only were Russian officials aware of Hillary Clinton’s campaign plan to accuse Donald Trump of being a Russian asset, top U.S. intelligence authorities knew of Russia’s knowledge of Clinton’s plans, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe disclosed to congressional officials on Tuesday. Before they launched an investigation into whether Trump’s campaign was colluding with Russia, intelligence agencies learned that Russia knew of Clinton’s plans to tarnish Trump with the collusion smear.

At one point, former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan personally briefed then-President Barack Obama and other top U.S. national security officials that Russia assessed Hillary Clinton had approved a plan on July 26, 2016, “to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services,” according to Brennan’s handwritten notes.

The Clinton campaign made up a bunch of bullshit about Trump and Russia, the Director of the CIA knew it was bullshit and told Obama and other top officials that it was bullshit–and we know this, remember, because it’s the CIA Director’s own written notes– and for the next four years they tore the country apart pretending the bullshit was true.

Meanwhile, former FBI Director James Comey was hauled (via Skype) in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last Wednesday to inform the committee how little he could remember, how much he had never been told, how unaware of particular things he had been, and how many things simply hadn’t occurred to him at the time. The current CIA Director is delaying the release of additional classified documents in the hopes that Biden will win and the senate will flip and the national intelligence infrastructure can get back to the important business of keeping Republicans out of power. And the former Deputy Director of the FBI has backed out of testimony that had been scheduled for tomorrow because it wouldn’t be safe to testify in person what with the virus going around Washington and all, and it wouldn’t be “fair” to testify over Skype, or Zoom, or Teams. (He didn’t elaborate on what was unfair about remote testimony, but I bet Comey is slapping his own head going, “Why didn’t I think of that?”)

But holy shit you guys: Trump rode in a car, in a mask, behind closed windows, and waved to people!

Thank god we have a free press to keep us informed.

Astounding irresponsibility indeed…
