Nuancen, nuancen!

In a move surprising no one, President Trump on Monday authorized the United States Postal Service (USPS) to remove public mail collection boxes (or “mailboxes”) throughout the nation.  Consistent with his usual ineptitude, the president ordered the Postmaster General to focus the effort on a handful of collection locations in areas swarming with opposition activists.  Of the 141,900 collection boxes nationwide, social media has already documented the removal of at least a dozen.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D – San Francisco) has ordered her colleagues in the House back into session, in order to investigate the president’s newest effort to pervert democracy and transform America into a fascist police state by removing these sacred altars of democracy.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D – NY) expressed his outrage at Trump’s illegal actions and decried the failure of his Republican counterpart, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R – KY), to have the president taken out and shot.

The president has been using the pretext of potential mail fraud as an excuse to reduce the USPS to rubble and salt the earth where it once stood.  His contempt for the USPS is unprecedented, and his actions seem to signal a willingness to begin dismantling American institutions out in the open.  That he appointed one of his major donors to the post of Postmaster General was itself an act of transparent cronyism worthy of impeachment.

That’s about the gist of it, if you’re getting your news from TV2 News, or DR, or god knows where else in Denmark.

So it must be true.
